Soweto Bike tour will be about 60-90 minute drive to the start point (depending on traffic and pick up points). Your bike tour will start from Lebo’s Soweto Backpackers, from here you will peddle towards a special look out point which offers a picturesque view of the settlement. Your local guide will point out places of interest such as the home grounds of the famous soccer team, the Orlando Pirates.
Your guide will then lead you to Mzimhlophe Men’s Hostel – a former male migrant workers’ hostel. You will learn about the harsh realities of the life of black labourers who were brought to work in mines and other industries. Continue to Meadowlands , made famous when families were displaced from Sophiatown and shifted here in the 1950s.
