Explore the historic city of Granada on this sightseeing tour. Lying at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Granada is home to Spain's most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens.

The Alhambra is the main jewel of this beautiful city, a stunning complex of buildings and fortifications. Now a must-see for visitors to Granada, Alhambra was at different times a small fortress, ancient ruins, and a royal palace.

The outstanding Gardens of Generalife rank among the world’s most beautiful gardens. Designed for the summer residence of the Moorish ruler, they are filled with water springs, gardens and architecture of indescribable beauty.

Granada is a mix of several cultures; Eurasian, Iberians, Phoenician, Roman, Arab and Christian influences intermix and are evident everywhere. The tour will showcase some of the famous landmarks and monuments of Granada.

Alhambra: Granada's best-known attraction is the Alhambra Palace, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Alhambra Palace, locally referred to as just the Alhambra, overlooks the city of Granada. It stands out as the most famous example of Moorish architecture in Spain, and also perhaps the best-known Muslim construction. The Alhambra consists of three parts: The Royal Palace, the Gardens of Generalife and the fortress of Alcazaba.

Gardens of Generalife: Considered to be among the most beautiful in the world, like the Alhambra these gardens are a well-established UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gardens, created in the early 14th century, have maintained their original shape, bordering the Alhambra. Once a summer residence for the king, the word "generalife," meaning "garden of paradise" truly describes this collection of water springs, gardens, and architectural beauty.

Alcazaba: The Alcazaba is an impressive military fortress, dating back to the 9th century. It is the oldest part of the Alhambra and is reconstructed upon the ruins of a castle.

After the visit to the Alhambra there will be free time for afternoon tea (at own expense). After a splendid journey through the past you will return back to Seville.
