Activity Schedule

Thai culture promotes a sense of belongingness and communion through the act of eating together. Be a part of this tradition with a cooking workshop at Courageous Kitchen – a not-for-profit organisation that works with local children to teach them about the importance of nutrition and to arm them with the tools they need to feed themselves and their families in the future.

It all starts from buying the ingredients from the local market, preparing the meal and finally dining together, sharing stories and learning more about Thai traditions and culture.

When you meet your guide, he/she will show you the menu from which you can choose what soup, a main course and dessert you would like to cook. Once that is decided, your guide will take you to an old-school local market to buy ingredients required to prepare your choice of items. During your visit, taste some street snacks and pick toothsome desserts for everyone.

After shopping, it will be time for the demonstration. Your host at Courageous Kitchen will teach you how to perfect the items you chose to cook. Jot down the tips and tricks so that you can impress your family and friends back home with your newfound cooking skills.

The meal is ready and set on the table. Sit together and find out more about the organisation’s inspiring work while savouring the delish food. You can ask the host all about local life in Thailand and get some insider tips about places where you can eat during your stay in Bangkok. Before you go, if you pass your email address to your guide, your host will send you a mini-cookbook with a couple of recipes and a few of those tricky Thai words that you won't want to forget.

At the end of the meal, make sure to make some space for the dessert that you picked from the market.
