One of the most unique places to visit, the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between South and North Korea is the world’s most heavily guarded border. A guided full-day adventure from Seoul, this tour will open up your eyes to the consequences of the Korean War till date. Feel the palpable tension between the two countries, witness remnants of the Cold War, and even get to trespass the North Korean territory briefly!
Check out the Imjingak Pavilion Freedom Bridge, that was crossed over by South Korean prisoners of war in the past and the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, one of the four tunnels secretly dug by the Northern army for the purpose of invasion on the Republic of Korea. Witness pictures and war artifacts at DMZ Theater & Exhibition Hall and move on to Dora Observatory from where you can look through the binoculars to the other side of the demarcation line and observe the everyday life of a small North Korean Village from afar. Follow your guide to the Dorasan Station, the northernmost stop on South Korea’s railway line. Pass by the Unification Village before stopping for lunch.
During the second part of this tour, you will be led to the Joint Security Area (JSA) or Panmunjom, where diplomatic dialogues between North and South Korea are held. Cross the Unification Bridge, the so-called "Bridge of No Return" and arrive at Camp Bonifas, a former United Nations Command military post where you get to watch a slide show on the JSA and Korean historical facts.
